The trip began with travel from their school to Heathrow Airport before flying to Stockholm and getting settled in their rooms before heading to dinner. Pupils enjoyed buffet style dinner and together getting to know each other across the different schools. 

Throughout the week, pupils visited many of Stockholm's famous attractions. They explored the Paradox Museum, took part in an interactive Scavenger Hunt through the historic streets of Gamla Stan (Old Town), visited the Avicii Experience, and discovered fascinating exhibits at the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology. They also enjoyed a visit to Djurgården, where groups explored the Police Museum and Sports Museum. They explored the famous group of ABBA though their museum and also spend the day at Skansen, experiencing Swedish history, culture, and wildlife. 

One of the highlights of the trip was spending time in Stockholm's vibrant city centre. Pupils walked many miles throughout the week, exploring different districts, parks, shopping areas, landmarks and food choices. This gave them a real appreciation of the city while encouraging resilience and independence. A key achievement for many pupils was confidently using Stockholm's excellent public transport network. They quickly became familiar with travelling on the Metro (Tunnelbana), buses and trams learning how to navigate the city safely and efficiently. For many pupils, this was also their first experience travelling on a public boat, with ferry journeys providing a unique way to see Stockholm's beautiful islands and waterfront. 

Alongside the educational visits, pupils enjoyed eating out together, park evenings, shopping, games at the hostel, and time to socialise with new friends made on the trip. They represented Matrix Academy Trust exceptionally well throughout the trip, showing respect, maturity, and enthusiasm at every venue visited, which many commenting on how well behaved and polite our pupils were. 

Pupils returned with wonderful memories, increased confidence, new friendships, and a greater appreciation of another culture. The trip was a fantastic success and provided experiences that many pupils will remember for years to come. 

The trip recognised the hard work, positive attitudes and consistent participation shown by students in the programme. It was a well-deserved opportunity to relax, have fun and spend time together outside of school, with students making the most of the park's thrilling rides and attractions.

The day was a great way to celebrate the progress students have made this year, both personally and as part of the Rugbyworks programme. Their dedication and enthusiasm have been recognised, and everyone involved should be proud of what they have achieved.

To qualify, pupils attended school every day between 29 June and 17 Julyand arrived on time each morning. In total, 312 pupils met the criteria and received a free ice cream or slushie:

• Year 7: 95 pupils
• Year 8: 81 pupils
• Year 9: 78 pupils
• Year 10: 58 pupils

All other pupils also had the opportunity to purchase an ice cream or slushie should they have wished.

The event was a fantastic way to recognise pupils' dedication, resilience and commitment to attending school every day. It also provided an opportunity for pupils to enjoy time with their friends as we celebrated the end of another successful school year.

At Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School, we know that every day in school matters. Excellent attendance supports academic achievement, wellbeing, friendships and a strong sense of belonging. We are incredibly proud of every pupil who earned this reward and thank our families for their continued support in promoting excellent attendance throughout the year.

The sessions included activities centred around "All About Me", giving pupils the opportunity to share information about themselves and begin building relationships with staff and peers. Pupils also enjoyed a tour of the school, helping them become familiar with key areas and routines before September.

To support pupils in getting to know the school community, they took part in a range of staff quizzes and interactive activities to learn who staff members are and how different aspects of school life work. They also had the chance to experience a variety of lessons, including English, where they created their own evil villains; Dance, which incorporated martial arts-inspired movements; and Science, where pupils safely explored the use of Bunsen burners.

As part of the transition experience, pupils were able to trial lunchtime routines, helping them become familiar with the dining hall environment and expectations.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who attended. Their enthusiasm, participation and willingness to embrace new experiences were fantastic to see. To celebrate their achievements and commitment throughout the programme, every pupil received an ice lolly at the end of the final session.

We look forward to welcoming them back in September and wish them a happy and restful summer.

With temperatures soaring throughout the day, the water rides quickly became the most popular attractions, providing the perfect way to cool down while adding plenty of excitement. Pupils embraced every opportunity to enjoy the park, from the thrilling rollercoasters to the splash-filled rides, making the most of a well-earned day out with their peers and mentors.

The trip was a fitting way to round off the programme, recognising the pupils' commitment, teamwork and positive attitude throughout the year. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, creating lasting memories and celebrating their achievements together.

A huge thank you to all the staff who supported the visits throughout the year and helped make it such a successful and enjoyable experience for all pupils involved.

This year's event saw every pupil from Dame Elizabeth Cadbury travel to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham for our biggest Sports Day yet. We were joined by 11 schools from across the Matrix Academy Trust, with approximately 6,500 pupils taking part in this incredible celebration of sport. Competing at one of the UK's premier athletics venues made the experience even more special and inspired our pupils to perform at their very best.

From thrilling track races to impressive field events, our pupils demonstrated determination, resilience and outstanding teamwork throughout the day. The atmosphere was electric, with schools cheering on their athletes and creating a fantastic sense of community, pride and friendly competition.

One of the biggest highlights was the much-anticipated Headteacher Tug of War, which had pupils and staff roaring with laughter and encouragement. The staff gave it everything they had, providing plenty of entertainment and proving that Sports Day is just as much about enjoying ourselves together as it is about competition.

The standard of competition was exceptional, but Dame Elizabeth Cadbury was simply unstoppable. Our athletes claimed an incredible 41 of the 64 medals available and finished more than 1,000 points clear of the runners-up. It was a dominant performance and a fitting reward for the commitment, determination and school pride shown by every competitor.

A huge thank you goes to our PE department, staff, Sports Leaders and volunteers, whose hard work made the day such a tremendous success. Most importantly, congratulations to every pupil who competed, officiated or supported from the sidelines. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship and school spirit made this our biggest and best Sports Day yet.

Congratulations to Team Dame Elizabeth Cadbury on another unforgettable victory. The trophy is staying where it belongs! The challenge has now been set—can anyone stop us from making it three years in a row?
